Spanish-Language Research


PILOT PROGRAM
The initial research on the HARP project examined pre and post test surveys from participants who attended an Active Communication class in one of eight locations across the state of Texas. Eighty percent of participants were of Hispanic descent, while sixty-three percent had Spanish as their first language.

HISPANIC ACTIVE RELATIONSHIPS PROJECT (HARP)
After the initial study was completed identifying the high success of the project, Active Relationships Center submitted a proposal on behalf of Cameron County, and was selected to receive a healthy marriage demonstration grant in 2006. Each year, Baylor University continues to analyze the impact and results of HARP’s workshops in Cameron County, Texas.
