ARC’s Military History
Since 2003, when the AML&RS curriculum was first offered through the chaplaincy at Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas, Active Relationships Center has served military chaplains, unit ministries teams, Integrated Delivery Service teams and military singles, married couples, and families, at all stages of the deployment cycle, including those serving in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).
Active Relationships Center has presented events for military installations at locations in Asia (Korea and Japan), Europe (England, Germany and Italy) and through-out the U.S.
Active Relationships Center has executed contracts for the United States Air Forces - Europe and the United States Air Force Air Combat Command by certifying Integrated Delivery Service teams command-wide. A similar contract for an additional United States Air Force major command (12 Air Force bases) is pending.
Such training events specifically focused on training for single airmen/soldiers, married couples and families. Trainings were also conducted as part of the deployment cycle (pre-deployment, deployment and reintegration). All trainings were presented “on time” and “on budget” and were given extremely high scores in post-training evaluations.
Active Relationships Center was awarded a five year, 2006-2011, federal grant for the Department of Health and Human Services Healthy Marriage program. The purpose of this grant is to deliver relationship skills certification services, to form service teams and provide classes for over 1,000 families per year in South Texas. Activities have also recently included an emphasis to serve military families in the National Guard and Reserves, as well as the development of a Military Community Covenant to locally support service members and their families.
We are proud to announce that not only do we serve single and married couples with AML&RS, but we now serve whole families together with our newest curriculum: Active Military Families. Both AML&RS and AMF are available in both secular and Christian versions.
